Bio:

Arian Bagheri Pour Fallah, known mononymously as Arian, is an artist and author. Arian’s works have been presented at and catalogued by, among others, the Royal Anthropological Institute (RAI), Ars Electronica, Miami Art Week, Max Planck Institute for Empirical Aesthetics, and the Royal Musical Association (RMA). Arian has exhibited and performed in New York, London, San Francisco, Miami, Zürich, Rome, Cologne, Prague, Krakow, Fukaya, among others, and is published by MIT Press and Cambridge University Press, respectively. Arian’s research is located at the interface of anthropologies of science and religion, spanning fields and subjects as discrete as computational science, metamaterials, multimodal integration; the hard problem of consciousness, free will, and theology; to hermeneutics, monetary theory, and urban sprawl — with key contributions to visual culture, dramaturgy and theory of art.

A member of the Royal Anthropological Institute (RAI) and the Society for Electro-Acoustic Music in the United States (SEAMUS), Arian’s practice dates back to the formation of the elusive The Blunder of a Horse, an art collective and ensemble known for their idiosyncratic convergence of ethnographic and systems art, in tandem with extended récits and essays on classical mechanics, thermal and statistical physics, philosophies of death and language. Much like Arian’s subjects of study, emerging fields such as neuromorphic engineering and mechanical neural networks, and preceding art movements per land art, light and space, emergence is quintessential to Arian’s works, which have long eschewed the confines of new media and gallery space both, anticipating and composing the next structural turn in the practice and theory of art.
